Dominic Monaghan

Dominic Monaghan (born December 8, 1976) is an actor who was thrust into stardom with the success of Peter Jackson's adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings in which he played the character of Merry Brandybuck.

Born and raised in Berlin, Dominic and his family moved to England when he was 12. In addition to speaking fluent German, he has a knack at impersonations and accents. His first major role was in the BBC television series, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, in which he played the sidekick of Hetty (Patricia Routledge).
