Decretage

This page has been listed on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion. Please see that page for justifications and discussion.

Decretage is a surrealist method invented by Sasha Vlad, in which the staples are removed from a staple-bound magazine, creating a number of "pages" that had formerly been separated when bound. These "pages" are then searched, or analyzed, for some correspondence of connexion between the images of the two formerly separated pages. These images can either be used as the basis for a collage, or the "page" created by the decretage can be left as is. Decretage is also the name for a work created by this method.
