Daniel Marot
Daniel Marot (
1661-
1752) was a
French-
Protestant architect who left France following the anti-Protestant
Edict of Fontainebleau (
1685). Marot moved to the
Netherlands where he worked for
William of Orange; in particular, he is associated with
Het Loo. In
1694, he traveled with William to
London. He returned to Holland, in
1698, where he lived until his death.
