Country Music Hall of Fame

The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee is a museum documenting the history of country music and honoring its major figures. The Hall of Fame was established by the Country Music Association. The first inductees, in 1961, were performers Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams, Sr. and songwriter/publisher Fred Rose. In 2001 the Hall moved from its building on Music Row, its home since 1967, to a new location in downtown Nashville.
