Confederacy of Independent Systems

The Confederacy of Independent Systems is a fictional organization that existed in the Star Wars universe in the latter years of the Republic. The organization was made up of organizations and Star Systems that wanted to leave the Republic. The organization's main goal was to split from the Republic and form their own republic, saying the Republic had become too corrupt. The members of this organization are called Separatists.

The tension between the Republic and the Separatists eventually lead to the Clone Wars. After the Battle of Geonosis, the Separatists seized Rhen Var, but that planet was later retaken by the Republic. The video game, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, turns the tide of the Clone Wars.

The head of the confederacy is Count Dooku.
