Cold Spring Harbor (album)

Cold Spring Harbor was Billy Joel's first solo album, and was released in 1971 (1971 in music). He had already released several albums as a member of the bands "The Hassles" and "Attila", but this was his first solo effort. It was released by Family Productions, but through an error in the album's editing, the songs were slightly too fast, causing Joel's voice to sound high and reedy. This was remedied in 1983 when Columbia Records, his new label, re-released a corrected version. Due to legal difficulties with Ripp, Family Production's parent company, Joel subsequently moved to California, where he played under the assumed name Bill Martin, an experience that eventually led to his song "Piano Man".

Songs:

  1. She's Got a Way
  2. You Can Make Me Free
  3. Everybody Loves You Now
  4. Why Judy Why
  5. Falling of the Rain
  6. Turn Around
  7. You Look So Good To Me
  8. Tomorrow is Today
  9. Nocturne
  10. Got To Begin Again
