Clarence King
Clarence King (1842-1901) was an American geologist- With William Brewer and Josiah Whitney, member of the California Geological Survey.
- First director of the USGS (1879-1881)
- First ascent of Mount Tyndall, mistakenly thinking it was the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada.
