Círdan

In the fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien, Círdan the Shipwright is a Sindarin Elf, lord of the Falas, and perhaps the mightiest of the Moriquendi. He was the bearer of the Great Ring Narya after Gil-Galad; he gave it to Gandalf.

He had a beard, which is rare for Elves; but he was of great age at the time of the War of the Ring: perhaps the oldest Elf in Middle-earth.
