Cannon Street Railway Bridge

Cannon Street Railway Bridge is a bridge in London, crossing the River Thames. Downstream, the next bridge is London Bridge, and upstream Southwark Bridge. It lets trains pass from the south to get to Cannon Street railway station. The present bridge is the third, and was opened in 1982.


Cannon Street Railway Bridge

The first bridge was designed by John Hankshaw, opened in 1860 and was widened by Francis Brady in 1889. It was originally named Alexandra Bridge after Alexandra of Denmark who was the wife of the future King Edward VII.
