Burroughs B5000

The B5000 was a mainframe computer introduced by the Burroughs Corporation in 1961. It was notable as an early dual-processor system and for segmented memory hardware.

The B5000 was a stack machine designed to be programmed in an extended Algol 60. The operating system, called MCP (Master Control Program - unrelated from the same in Tron), were programmed in extended Algol almost a decade before Unix, and the command interface developed into a compiled structured language with procedures called WFL (Work Flow Language).
