Brodick

Brodick (meaning Broad Bay, the name is derived from Scandanavian roots) is the main village on the Isle of Arran, in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. It is set on the eastern coast of the island, roughly in the central section. It sits below Goatfell, the tallest mountain on Arran, and in Brodick Bay.

Features include the harbour which receives the main connecting ferry with the mainland which sails to Ardrossan, and Brodick Castle, a former residence of the Dukes of Hamilton.

Brodick is a well known holiday destination, with tourism providing much of the village's economic base.

Brodick's population was 621 in the 2001 Census.
