Bouzouki

The bouzouki (plural sometimes transliterated as bouzoukia) is a long-necked musical instrument of Greek origin, resembling a mandolin, which exists in three flavours:

• Trichordo having three pairs of strings.
• Tetrachordo having four pairs of strings.
• Irish.

The Greek trichordo bouzouki, and its relative the baglamas, were the main instruments of rembetika (a type of Greek music). [1]
