Bahusia

Bahusia, or Bohuslän (literally "The Fief of Bohus"), is a traditional province or landskap on the western coast of Sweden. It borders to Dalia and Westrogothia. It is also borders to Skagerrak and to Norway.

For many years Bohuslän formed a county togeather with the City of Gothenburg, but in 1999 it was replaced by the several times larger County of Västra Götaland.

History

Bohuslän became a Swedish province in 1658 due to the Treaty of Roskilde. The province gets its name from the fortress of Bohus, by the town of Kungälv. The other part of the name - län, which means fief is also the term used for the current administrative units. counties.
