Parliament House is the federal seat of government in Canberra, Australia. There are two chambers - the House of Representatives and the Senate. The building was opened in 1988, the year of Australia's Bicentennial, by Queen Elizabeth II. The controversial building with distinctive stainless steel flag mast cost over one billion dollars at the time.
