Archangel

"Archangel", a supernatural being, counted among the angels.

In the hierarchy of the angels, the Archangels take a complet unique position. In the diffrent traditions the Archangels are three, four, or seven to the number, and take their place closest to God's throne. According to Dionysios Aeropagita's angelogi, Archangels take place just above the lowest of the angel orders, the common angels. According to the classic tradition, the Archangels consist of the three: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael (sometimes Uriel are included among them).
