Agnes Moorehead

Agnes Moorehead (December 6, 1900 to April 30, 1974) was an American character actress. She was born in Clinton, Massachussetts.

Moorehead was part of Orson Welles' Mercury Theater on the Air radio program in the 1930s and appeared in a Broadway production of Don Juan in Hell in 1950.

The lung cancer which took her life is traced by some back to her work in The Conqueror, filmed near nuclear-weapon test sites in Nevada and in sets dressed with truckloads of dirt from the area. She died in Rochester, Minnesota
